Well done. An act of service like that can really help your neighbour our, and you will also feel rewarded by it. Even if your neighbour doesn't thank you, doing a selfless service is good for your personality building.
Sometimes it's fun to know you did something for someone else and no one else knows you did. A personal feeling of satisfaction in making someone's day a little brighter is a wonderful feeling.
And also remember that sometimes people get busy in their lives and forget to say thank you. Just knowing that you did something that helped someone else, is thanks in itself. Be proud of your efforts.
